Lakeside knows the importance of educating the whole child, including physical and mental health. Lakeside is proud to have five Registered Nurses on campus, one to serve each school building to make sure our students and staff receive the care they need.

    Valerie Ramsey, RN

    Valerie was born and raised in central Arkansas, graduating from Benton High School in 2007. In 2010 Valerie moved to Hot Springs to attend National Park College- she obtained her Associates of Science degree in Nursing in 2014. She obtained her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Arkansas Tech University in 2016. From 2014 to 2021 she was an intensive care nurse here in Hot Springs, she continues to work occasionally in the ICU at CHI St.Vincent. Valerie also returned to NPC as a clinical adjunct instructor taking nursing students to local hospitals and helping them care for patients as they learned. Valerie, her husband Jonah, and their two kids reside here in Hot Springs. Valerie recently accepted the position as the Primary School Nurse here at Lakeside. Both of her children, Aspen and Canyon, attend Lakeside and she is grateful to be with them on campus. Valerie creates a safe and caring environment for children to come to whenever they have a medical need or concern. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your Pre-K, Kindergarten or 1st graders, please contact Nurse Valerie through the Primary school office.

  • Becca Helton, RN

    Becca is a transplant from Colorado and has been in Hot Springs since 2000. She has 4 children with her husband, Brady, that they have raised in Hot Springs. All 4 children have been at Lakeside since they were in Kindergarten. She graduated nursing school with a Bachelor of Science from UAMS in 1997. Before becoming a school nurse, she worked in Labor and Delivery and Hospice Nursing. Having worked cradle to grave, she is happy to be settled in the “Middle” at the best school on Lakeside campus.


  • Lindsey Scully, RN

    Lindsey was born and raised in Hot Springs, Arkansas. She attended Hot Springs High School where she became interested in a nursing career after participating in the Medical Professions Education course at National Park College. She obtained her Associates of Science degree in Nursing from National Park College in 2014. Lindsey started her nursing career at National Park Medical Center working on the medical-surgical floor. Later she served as the Personal Care RN for the Home & Community Based Services department at First Step, Inc. 

    Lindsey and her husband, Matt, have 4 amazing children, with 1 of them currently attending Lakeside. It is Lindsey’s heart to provide compassionate nursing care for the physical, mental, and emotional needs of students and staff here at Lakeside.  One of Nurse Lindsey’s top priorities is to communicate with students that her door is always open and her office is a safe space. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your 7th or 8th grade student, please contact Nurse Lindsey through the Junior High office.

    Kelly M. Orr, RN

    Kelly was born and raised in Conway, Arkansas.  After graduating Conway High School, she attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.  She graduated from the UofA with a bachelor of science degree in nursing.  Kelly started her nursing career in 2001 at Arkansas Children’s Hospital as a nurse on the general surgery and orthopedic floors.  She went on to become a speciality nurse in plastic surgery.  She was the nurse injector, surgical first assistant, and clinical manager for Dr. Edward Love in Little Rock for fifteen years.  Kelly and her husband, Tony, moved to Hot Springs in 2015 when their daughter was starting kindergarten.  Now both their children, Jillian and Chance, attend Lakeside Schools.  She has been a nurse at Lakeside since 2019 and served as the COVID point of contact when needed. She strives to provide a safe, healthy environment to all students and continuous care in regards to all our student’s health needs.   If you have any questions or concerns in regards to your 9th -12th grade student, please contact Nurse Kelly through the high school office.
